Call for more Experts by Experience
The East Midlands Provider Collaboratives for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Adult Eating Disorder (AED) and Perinatal are inviting more Experts by Experience to join their growing network and support co-production work across the region.
Experts by Experience are people who have first-hand experience of and insight into specialist mental health services. This can be either through their own care or through supporting a family member, partner, friend or as a carer. Their lived experience offers a perspective that cannot be replicated through professional training alone, and it plays a vital role in shaping, strengthening and improving services across the East Midlands
In recent years, the CAMHS, AED and Perinatal Collaboratives have expanded their commitment to co production, ensuring that people with lived experience are involved not only in sharing feedback, but in influencing how services are designed, developed and delivered.
Holly Parker-Guest, Involvement and Co-production Lead for the CAMHS, AED and Perinatal East Midlands Provider Collaboratives said:
Every experience matters and whether someone found our services helpful, difficult or somewhere in between, their insight helps us understand what is working well and what could be strengthened. Their contribution directly influences how services evolve, ensuring they remain responsive, compassionate and grounded in real experiences.
There are different ways to be involved, depending on interests, experience and availability. People do not need any previous experience of co-production, and expressing an interest does not commit them to taking part.
Professionals working within partner organisations are encouraged to share this opportunity with individuals they support who may be interested in contributing their lived experience.
