About Us

The East Midlands Alliance for Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism was established in 2019 and brings together the six largest providers of mental health, learning disability and autism services in the region:

  • Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust
  • Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
  • Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • St Andrew’s Healthcare

The Alliance was created to improve the quality and effectiveness of mental health and learning disability services in the region, through working together, sharing best practice, and learning, as well as using our combined voice to influence national policy and ultimately improve patient experience and outcomes.

Our Vision

The East Midlands Alliance for Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism’s vision is:

Working together in partnership to enable the best mental health, learning disability and autism care and support for the people of the East Midlands

We do this by focusing on our draft strategic priorities:

  • Improving quality and productivity
  • Enabling safe care
  • Developing our workforce
  • Improving population health
  • Reducing inequalities

We are currently developing a measurable set of strategic goals for each of our strategic priorities in 2024/25 that will inform our Alliance strategic plan.

How does the Alliance work?

The Alliance delivers services through five collaboratives – Adult Eating Disorder, CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), Forensic, Perinatal and Veterans – which operate across the East Midlands and are each led by one of the partner providers above.

We also run programmes of our own, such as Therapy Supervision, a Gambling Addictions Service, and developing Clinical Support Workers in the region.

As well as these, we also deliver through joint programmes, professional networks, innovation, shared learning, and effective use of resources.

Values and Principles

Everything we do as an Alliance is guided by our values and principles towards achieving our vision of providing the best mental health, learning disability and autism care and support for the people of the East Midlands.

  • Patient first
  • We take decisions as locally as possible
